Miniature Pinscher The Miniature Pinscher gets along fine with children, provided it is not pestered by them, in which case it may bite. Small children should be cautioned and supervised to protect the dog from injury. Carlin Pinscher
The Carlin Pinscher is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Miniature Pinscher and the Pug. The best way to determine the temperment of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. The United All Breed Registery is how my Carlin Pinschers are registered. Not all of the designer hybird dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.
For a developing breed, Carlin Pinschers are very similar in appearance. The Carlin Pinscher has no breathing problems due to the fact that they have some Miniature Pinscher muzzle. The Pug has given them thicker legs and stronger looking body. The coat is the same as the shorter almost non-shedding coat of the Miniature Pinscher. The color that it is being bred for is the black and tan. The temperment are patient and pleasant like a pug but they still retain some, but not all of the Miniature Pinscher's feistiness. This is an even tempered breed, exhibiting stability, playfulness, great charm, dignity, and an outgoing loving disposition. Most puppies raised with gentle, respectful children, grow into respectful, gentle dogs. Obedience training is a must for all dogs, as an ill-behaved dog is more likely to harm a child due to lack of manners. Height 11 to 13 inches weight 12-14 pounds. The Carlin Pinscher is good for apartment life. It is very active indoors and will do okay without a yard. These dogs do not require a lot of excerise but should be walked daily to fulfill their primal canine instinct to walk. In addition they should be given regular opportunites to run and play. Make sure any yeard in which they can run loose has a fence high enough to prevent their determined efforts to escape and explore. Life expectancy is about 15 or more years. The Carlin Pinscher's coat is smooth, short-haired, hard coat is easy to groom.

Pug
The Pug is stubby and muscular with a wide chest, straight, very strong front legs and well-muscled hind legs. They receive their name "Pug" from the Latin word that means "clenched fist". To communicate with humans Pugs make a grunting nasal noise, somewhat like a pig. Being snuggled down at your feet snoring or being close to you, but unobtrusive, are some of Pugs' favorite activities. Pugs are a dog who tends to make people smile because they are convinced of their own importance. Pugs are adaptable, sociable and good-natured.
